What genre do you publish in?
We don’t ascribe to traditional genres, but all of our books fall into a category we call self-expansion. Generally non-fiction, these are books that make your world bigger, satiate your inner curiosity, teach you something new, encourage you to look at your life through a different lens.
How do you find authors?
A blend of art and science. We do tons of looking around at trend data, we do social listening, we have hundreds and hundreds of conversations with readers, and we see what sorts of themes or topics come up over and over in conversation and data. Once we’ve identified a few topics we’d like to publish books about, we go deep into existing communities around these topics and start to identify people who we feel have something different to say. We like to work with people who don’t yet consider themselves “authors”, people with a compelling perspective on something that hasn’t been shared widely yet, and people with the ability to inspire communities of other people around the world.
Are you accepting manuscripts?
We’re happy to take a look at your manuscript or proposal if you believe it falls into the self-expansion category. Please email email@example.com with the words “Book Proposal” in the subject line. We’ll take a look and get back to you if it’s a fit.
Are you hiring?
We’re always looking for talented people who are just as eager to build a new kind of publishing house. Email firstname.lastname@example.org with a little blurb about yourself and a link to your LinkedIn profile and we’ll let you know if there’s an opening you might be a fit for.
Where do you print your books?
At Die Keure, a printing house in Bruges, Belgium. It’s one of the most sustainable, eco-friendly printing houses in the world. See our About page for more information on their sustainability practices.
